CAM32 Custom Reporting

One of the most powerful and useful tools availble in the CAM system is the Custom Reporting feature. This tool is so easy to use that first time users can be creating their own reports with little or no instruction. The user is simply prompted with questions that determine the parameters of the report. In the following example , we will create our own report for inventory. This custom reporting feature applies to Inventory, Customers, Vendors, Layaways, Special Orders, Rentals, Estimates, Back Orders, Serial Number/Unit Control Items, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and more.

STEP 1- This step is only for businesses with multiple locations. If there are multiple stores, we will be asked to choose the combination of stores we wish to see.

STEP 2- In this step, we are asked whether we want to see certain totals only and/or whether we want to see the detail showing each item on the report. If we only wanted to see our value of inventory, at cost, by vendor, and a total for the store, we would choose subtotals, totals no detail. (#6).

STEP 3- In this step, select the group of items to print. The system will assume we want all items printed unless we futher define the items we want to see. This screen is assuming all items.

STEP 4-This menu allows you to choose the order in which you would like the report to be displayed or printed. The options on this screen show your choices; you may select more than one. For example, you might want the report to be sorted by vendor, and within each vendor you might want the inventory items sorted by description.

STEP 5- After we have made our selections, the system will show our selections and the order they will appear on the report. If you OK the selection as correct, the report will be printed.

In the first example of our Custom Report, we show the report displayed for all stores, in a five-store operation, with totals by store shown at the bottom. Of course, in a single store operation there would be no option for additional stores information, simplifying the report.

In this second example of our Custom Report, we show the report displayed, by store, for a five store operation. Each store's information is displayed individually, designated by the store number in the left hand column. "C" in this column represents the combined stores information.
