ICE Receiving
The Receiving Document report allows you to quickly query all current and historical receiving activity. This report allows you to identify single purchase orders and report on all of the products that have been received against the order. The Receiving Document report also allows you to see individual dates for receiving activity or an accumulation of dates if your order was partially received over a longer timeframe. For multi-location or multi-store operations, the Receiving Document will electronically route all receiving information back to the headquarters. Headquarters can now see inventory that is being received at the remote locations. This information can then be compared to the purchase order to confirm shipments have been completed.
Orders can be received with a single click of the mouse by simply retrieving the existing purchase order and clicking on the 'Save' button. This is most commonly used when orders are shipped "exactly" as ordered. In the real world though, we all know that this is a rare occurrence. So, to help you in these types of situations, Retail ICE also allows you to receive goods by scanning the merchandise into the system with a hand-held scanner or entering the shipped quantity by hand. To assist you in this method, Retail ICE contains a Receiving Worksheet report that will list all of the products on the original order along with the quantity ordered and a box to write in the received quantity. This document is then brought back to the computer for keying into the Receiving screen.
The Receiving Query report is another of many "flash reports" built into the Retail ICE software suite. These "flash reports" provide instant, up-to-date information and are comprised of the most commonly requested reports by thousands of retailers. The Receiving Query report allows you to look at your historical receiving history in a variety of different ways. It also allows you to review purchases you've made over a specific date range.
